Information for course providers

A dedicated team of experienced biomedical professionals add and update details of European biomedical courses (CPD, masters and PhD) into on-course (we have no plans to advertise graduate courses at this time). There is a good chance your course may already be on our database so please check courses linked to your institution before adding your course details. Once your course is in on-course you will receive a yearly update reminding you to check your course details (although you are free to alter your course details or add new courses at any time).

Whilst you can remove your course from our database we would like you to consider the following advantages of displaying your postgraduate courses in on-course:

  • It is completely free of charge and is currently funded by industry and the EU commission
  • You will increase the visibility of your course
  • You will be part of the most comprehensive biomedical post-graduate course catalogue in Europe
  • Biomedical industry will be using on-course courses to train their employees
  • on-course has a dedicated Gap Team who will announce the current education and training needs of industry giving you the opportunity to update course curriculum or even develop new courses based on industry requirements thus making your course more attractive to students and industry

XCRI-Cap

on-course supports XCRI cap 1.2. XCRI allows course providers to automatically add and update their course information from their website to on-course via a live XML feed.

Requirements for entering course details

Your course information will be written and displayed in on-course in English with the language your course is taught in clearly displayed in the key information box. You will appreciate that courses are taught in approximately 30 languages in Europe and we need a single language to enable our administrative staff to review courses before publishing. English was chosen as this is the universal language of the Biomedicines industry worldwide.

Key information such as fees, course contact and a brief course description are recommended but please fill in as many fields as possible. One of the aims of on-course is to be as transparent as possible with course information. We would like course seekers to see clear, concise information that allows them in as short a time as possible to determine whether or not a course is suitable for them. Courses that do not meet this standard will not be displayed on on-course.

We would also encourage the following:

Credits (ECTS and CATS)

Please display the credits associated with your course. For UK courses you have the option to display ECTS and CATS together. ECTS allows compatibility, comparability and encourages movement of students across Europe. We therefore strongly recommend that you advertise both ECTS and CATS on your course homepage to help standardise the credit system across Europe.

Display of master modules

Our module manager will allow you to display course modules that can also be taken as standalone CPDs accompanied by a short description and ECTS. CPDs are particularly sought after by industry and presenting individual modules is more likely to attract industry employees. Good examples of modularised master courses can be seen by visiting the other IMI Education and Training topics: Eu2P, SafeSciMet and PharmaTrain.

Use of the on-course forum

The on-course forum is the place to interact with students, industry and other course providers. Here you will be able to get feedback on your current course structure and you will be able to gauge interest in a potential new course before having to commit both time and money towards its development.
