New Horizon 2020-funded training project for managers of research infrastructures launched

A high-end training programme funded by the European Union will provide managers with core competencies for efficiently running complex research infrastructures.

Friday, 4 September 2015, saw the official launch of RItrain, the Research Infrastructures Training Programme. RItrain aims at developing a flagship training programme supporting research infrastructures across all scientific domains. RItrain will provide managers of research infrastructures with expertise on governance, organisation, financial and staff management, funding, intellectual property, service provision and outreach in international contexts.

Within RItrain, the Medical University of Vienna coordinates a work package for extensively mapping relevant existing courses to required competencies. The courses will be incorporated in the on-course® course database and then be used as the basis of systematic gap analyses. The on-course® team is proud to be part of the RItrain project and to support the realisation of its goals.

RItrain is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research funding programme under the topic of INFRASUPP-3-2014.
